Explore the world's oldest printmaking methods, woodcut printing, and design your own piece of artwork to take home. Led by renowned northern design studio, Northern Print, this half day workshop will introduce you to the traditional tools and techniques in creating your very own wood cut art.
From learning to design, draw and cut with wood blocks, to choosing your print template to make a piece of art work, the workshop will give each person the chance to play with different techniques and papers. Including the original thin Japanese papers to a more contemporary finish with the heavy weight printmaking papers.
During the workshop you'll have the chance to use the ink printing press and print from hand. Northern Print will be providing a selection of images for the workshop, or guests can bring their own image to use for the printing process. All guests can keep the woodblocks they create.
By the end of the workshop, the prints will not be fully dry, therefore each print will be wrapped to take home.
