Christmas in the country

Wrap up warm and spend Christmas in the countryside.

Christmas? We’re currently sat sipping cocktails in the courtyard so how can we even think about Christmas already?

Well, we’re ahead of the game: that’s right, we’ve got the parties planned, the food sorted and for the first time we’ve decided to open up the Main House, Coach House and country Farmhouse! You can imagine we needed the odd glass of mulled wine for some inspiration!

Whether there’s two or 22 of you there’s plenty of room for everyone… And if there is 22 we’d create a whatsapp group and get it all booked now, especially if it’s your turn to host! To us, Christmas is all about hibernating, long lazy lunches and constant warm cocoas! Oh and actually having time to read the book we got in our stocking…three years ago!

If you’re looking to escape to the country we’ve got the perfect place: set in 200 acres you’re free to roam the estate you can make the most of the peaceful surroundings - the only thing we can’t promise is snow! But if we cross our fingers now we may wake up to a scene from The Holiday, and then there’s snowman making (but I think we may be getting a little carried away).

Picture this, rocking up to a warm cosy house in the country, with frosty windows, crackling fires and homemade mince pies at the ready. You unload the car as the kids watch The Grinch and run a long hot bubble bath, filled with Noble Isle, Rubarb, Rubarb, bubbles.

All you need to remember is the kids presents and the rest is up to us! Our chefs will be busy cooking up a Christmas feast served throughout your stay, from yummy Christmas treats, to hearty Christmas lunches, think lots of cranberry sauce, lashings of gravy and the crispiest of pigs in blankets!

Not forgetting, midnight mass! Join us on Christmas Eve in the local church for pre-Christmas carols and celebrations… it wouldn’t feel like Chritsmas if we didn’t. Click here for more information.

An update from the Estate

We’re delighted to announce, in light of the latest Government guidance that our Coach House restaurant and hotel will re-open on Thursday 3rd December 2020.

From Thursday the Coach House will be serving up a delicious winter walled garden inspired menu for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Our stretch tent is still in place for alfresco-dining and we have the heaters and mulled wine at the ready. As the restaurant re-opens, we will no longer be offering takeaway orders Monday to Saturday. And on Sundays you can either join us for your Sunday roast or pre-order and collect your lunch to enjoy at home.

Should you have a hotel reservation from December 3rd, your booking will still be in place and we’re looking forward to welcoming you.

As you can imagine, our phone lines are extremely busy at the moment, which is why we thank you for your patience in advance.
