February’s Michelin Accolades
Within a year of opening Forge under head chef Jake Jones, we were delighted that at the Michelin Awards for Great Britain and Ireland 2024, Jake received the Michelin Young Chef of the Year award, while the restaurant was awarded a Michelin Green Star for our dedication to ethical and environmental standards. Sharing this achievement and celebrating it with you is really important to us.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to receive the accolade within just a year of opening Forge,” says Jake. “It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m grateful for the support of the Middleton Lodge team who have made this achievement possible.”
Our estate-to-plate ethos has sustainability at its heart; it’s important to us that the estate is brought back to life with a love for the landscape and with conservation at the forefront.

From biomass heating to beekeeping, we’re dedicated to minimising our environmental footprint. The restored two-acre garden, redesigned by the renowned Tom Stuart-Smith, provides seasonal produce for our kitchens, championing the estate-to-plate ethos. Recent investments in additional greenhouses and raised beds further enhance our ability to grow fresh, sustainable ingredients onsite.
