Join us for a relaxed and inspiring morning of creativity, discovering the traditional craft of linocut printing through botanical design. Guided by an experienced printmaker, this hands-on workshop offers the opportunity to slow down, explore the textures and forms found in nature, and create a series of beautiful hand-printed pieces to take home.
Perfect for both beginners and those looking to develop their creative practice, the session will introduce guests to the fundamentals of linocut printing in a welcoming and informal setting.
Throughout the morning, guests will be guided through the complete printing process, beginning with an introduction to the materials, tools and techniques used in linocut printing. You’ll have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of cutting tools, exploring different marks, textures and patterns on a practice block before learning how to ink and print your first test piece.

Drawing inspiration from seasonal botanical forms, guests will then design and sketch their own artwork onto lino before carefully carving their block by hand. Once complete, your finished design will be printed onto delicate kozo paper, traditional Kent paper and a selection of greeting cards.
Midway through the workshop, guests will pause to enjoy homemade biscuits and a hot drink, served fresh from the Coach House.
By the end of the session, each guest will leave with approximately four original prints, a selection of printed cards and their carved lino block, ready to continue printing and experimenting at home. Includes mid-morning refreshments and homemade biscuits.

About the Artist
Working from her home studio in Newcastle upon Tyne, the artist creates layered linocut prints inspired by the landscapes, coastlines and intricate natural details of northeast England.
Using predominantly reduction linocut techniques, she builds her prints slowly and thoughtfully in layers from a single block, producing small, carefully crafted editions. Her work is deeply rooted in the natural world – from sweeping beaches and rolling hills to the quieter beauty of seed heads, hedgerows, shells and rock pools.
Colour plays an important role within her practice, often heightened and expressive, capturing the feeling and atmosphere of a place experienced outdoors. Through texture, layering and experimentation, her prints celebrate both the richness and delicacy of nature.
