Spend a summer morning at Forge with ceramicist Victoria Brook, learning the art of hand-built ceramics inspired by the shapes and textures of the natural world.
This workshop is a chance to get hands-on with clay and create a collection of beautifully imperfect pieces for your home. Guided by Victoria, guests will learn simple sculpting and carving techniques to create a trio of woodland mushrooms, alongside up to two hand-formed pinch pots.
During the workshop, you’ll shape a morel, a porcini and a third seasonal mushroom, each finished with its own character and detail. You’ll also create up to two pinch pots to take home.
Partway through the morning, homemade Forge seasonal scones and hot drinks will be served around the table.
If you’d like to make a day of it, why not stay for lunch in the Coach House after the workshop?
Once the session has finished, Victoria will take your pieces away to glaze and fire in her studio. Finished ceramics will be ready to collect in around six weeks from either Middleton Lodge Estate or Victoria’s Newcastle studio. Postage can also be arranged for an additional cost.
You will create:
• a morel mushroom
• a porcini mushroom
• a third woodland mushroom
• up to two pinch pots
All pieces will then be glazed and fired by Victoria following the workshop.
