Winter Feasting
Winter has arrived. As the temperature drops, there’s a crisp chill in the air and you’ll find us popping into the Coach House daily for delicious treats as we warm up by the fireside in the snug. On the menu here, you’ll find plates from the land, garden or sea with hints of the winter produce we have growing on the estate. We make sure the menus change daily, reflecting the produce and ingredients head chef Ross Forder is inspired by that day – find hearty winter classics with a modern twist; and don’t miss the warming spicy kitchen garden cocktails!
It’s worth noting – if you don’t have time for a meal and you’re just looking for a pot of tea and some baked goodies – that our homemade mince pies smell and taste delicious, with a sugar-coated top, perfect pastry and a rich filling.
For something more formal, a special celebration maybe? There’s Forge, our fine dining restaurant, which brings you a narration of the landscape through the senses with its evening tasting experiences. Courses are detailed and delicate, flavours have a forged influence and strong connection to the season in the Yorkshire landscape. Open for Thursday to Sunday evening reservations only. Both the Coach House and Forge follow our ‘estate to plate’ ethos. With sustainability at their heart, they bring two different dining experience to the estate. For something more relaxed, head to the Coach House for soulful, seasonal plates, which you can tuck into from morning till night – in your wellington boots or your floaty dress. Or book a table at Forge for an intricate, exciting and refined experience, bringing you a taste of the estate in an entirely different way.
